2.2 Learning Material and Innovation

The students are provided a smart tv in each class. By using this smart tv, teacher can build the academic version of tv-liked that usually full of dramas, movies, or others. The teacher usually play a video or the audio for teaching. By using smart tv and more videos-audios, students will not get bored easily. The teacher usually play an English video, then asked students to listen and watch carefully, and after that discuss with the students about what is the video about. Then, the teacher also can use games and leisure activities for engaging students while learning through this smart tv. Besides, teacher can also ask students to create the performance task, then students have to recorded it and after that teacher will play or show the video in the class, so everyone in the classroom can look at the other group videos. Also, teachers can give warming up through the smart tv, like asking students to dance together.
The other innovation that I found is, the teacher was using mini board. Mini board is the small board that usually used by the students while they have their group activities. The fastest group will show their answer through this mini board, by raising up their mini board to the class. In maintaining the group activities, the teacher set timer for the fair competitions for group activities. One group consist of 5 people.
The last is, the teacher using tableu to make help students demonstrate or showing their feeling toward a picture. So, in this activity the teacher ask the students to sit in group again and when teacher say “tableu” all group have to silent, to demonstrate the situation and the condition of the picture. The best group interpretation will get point, and it will increase each members point (still part of the assessment method).
