Before departure: Meeting all Sea-Teacher & Sea-Tvet delegates from UNP

Updated: May 2, 2019

This is the first time I have had the opportunity to come to one of the UNP’s Official room. The place that located in this rector building was used as a place to gather or to meet with all selected delegates that will represent UNP in the Sea-Teacher and Sea-Tvet program. If I'm not mistaken, there are around 15 people to take part in the Sea-Teacher program, where there are 11 women and 4 men. As for the Sea-Tvet program delegates, if it's not mistaken, there are around a dozen people will be participated.

For delegates of Sea-Teacher program, the delegates must be the education department students. This is because they are later required to teach in schools in Thailand or Philippines (outside of their home countries). As for Sea-Tvet, the delegates usually comes from an industry or technology-based department. So, most of the UNP delegates for Sea-Tvet are the engineering faculty students and the tourism and hospitality faculty students. However, because this is an internship, perhaps it is also possible to open for students in other majors, apart from majors from these two faculties.

In short, today is the day to meet all delegates, both from Sea-Teacher and Sea-Tvet delegates. This time we should meet with the UNP Chancellor, before the departure time. However, because he was unable to attend, he was replaced by the Vice Chancellor IV. During the time of meeting, we were given the advice to always taking care of ourselves and taking care of the good name of our sending country, and always passionate to take part in all series of Sea-Teacher and Sea-Tvet program activities. In conclusion, he said 3 important things, they are: this program can make us easier to get new friends from other countries, always taking care of ourselves and maintaining the good name of Indonesia, and while we are in neighboring countries we cannot or we are not allowed to go anywhere alone.

After finishing, to close it, we took a picture together with the Vice Chancellor IV of UNP, as well as officials from the International Office, delegates from the Batch 7 Sea-Teacher program, and delegates from Sea-Tvet program 2019. The gathering process is held on January 3, 2019, because there are several Sea-Teacher delegates who will depart on January 4, 2019, although the Sea-Tvet delegates generally will depart on January 20, 2019.
